Sets with Lock Adapter
Combined Spinal-Epidural (CSE) anesthesia unites the rapidity of onset and predictability of a spinal block with the ability to modify and extend the block through an epidural.
EpiSpin Lock combines two key features into one product: the lock adapter on the Tuohy Backeye needle designed for easy SPROTTE® needle fixation in the desired position, and the backeye opening in the Tuohy tip for positioning of the SPROTTE® needle with no bending of the spinal needle over the Tuohy tip. EpiSpin Lock sets come equipped with the EpiSpin Lock needles and a selection of EpiLong or EpiLong Soft catheters, as well as accessoires like the clamping adapter, bacteria filters, or syringes.

Lock Adapter
EpiSpin Lock Sets come with a lock adapter on the Tuohy Backeye needle:
- Designed for easy SPROTTE® needle fixation in desired position.
- Developed to lock the SPROTTE® needle for the injection of anesthetic while reducing the risk of needle displacement.
- Allows for 360° rotation of the SPROTTE® needle.
- Seamless fixation mechanism.
- Designed for single-handed locking of the SPROTTE® needle.
Backeye Opening
Additional distal opening in the Tuohy tip for positioning of the SPROTTE® needle:
- No bending of spinal needle over Tuohy tip.
Ogival Tip
Giving the needle atraumatic properties:
- Lower incidence of PDPH with pencil-point (atraumatic) tip design.1-4
- The special geometry enables a better tactile sensation compared to bevel-tip needles when penetrating the different layers of ligament.5
Large Lateral Eye
Burr-free lateral opening with atraumatically rounded edges:
- Enables a quicker CSF flow than with cutting needle.6
Magnifying Hub
Clear, magnifying needle hub:
- Allows for easy visualization of blood or CSF.7
Outlet Marking on SPROTTE® Needle Shaft
