PAJUNK Regional Anesthesia Products Approved for Separate Medicare Reimbursement under the NOPAIN Act

What Is the NOPAIN Act?

The NOPAIN Act (Non-Opioids Prevent Addiction in the Nation) was enacted to expand patient access to non-opioid pain management solutions in outpatient settings. Effective January 1, 2026, qualifying non-opioid medical devices and drugs used during covered outpatient surgeries will be eligible for separate Medicare reimbursement, incentivizing safer, opioid-sparing approaches.

The act is a powerful step toward combating the opioid epidemic by supporting regional anesthesia, continuous nerve blocks, and wound infiltration techniques that reduce the need for opioid prescriptions post-surgery.
