Connector Design for Enhanced Patient Safety

In order to avoid the risk of wrong-route injections, the ISO 80369-6 standard was issued in 2016. The ISO 80369 series defines a unique connection type for five application areas within the standard series: respiratory applications, ENFit® for enteral applications, limb cuff inflation applications, NRFit® for neural applications and LUER for intravascular or hypodermic applications.

NRFit® is a connector designed to meet the ISO 80369-6 standard, specifically for Neural and Regional Anesthesia applications, and complements the established LUER connector. Misconnections between LUER and NRFit® on patient socket connectors are not possible. NRFit® aims to reduce the risk of misconnections, helping to prevent potentially fatal wrong route injections and enhancing overall patient safety.
