Pajunk Education with ESRA - March 2024

Together with the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy (ESRA), Pajunk organizes a series of clinical webinars which focus on peer clinician training.

Pajunk has always been close with the major Regional Anaesthesia societies by providing our support through attendance of the bigger and smaller meetings, workshops and trainings on the European level. With the introduction of ESRA's industry education webinars Pajunk is again at the forefront of actively supporting the education of Anesthesiologists in Regional Anesthesia topics. With our goal to develop and push new Regional Anaesthesia techniques, we are focussing on interesting less known topics that we think will gain momentum and play a relevant role in the treatment of patients in the future.

In 2021, we already had five webinars with the following topics:

  1. Pre-peritoneal Wound Infiltration Catheter in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery (Link)
  2. Ultrasound-guided WALANT & Ultrasound-guided Ophthalmic Blocks (Link)
  3. Rectus Sheath Catheters Post – operative Analgesia for Midline Laparotomy (Link)
  4. Ultrasound-guided Fascial Plane Blocks - Clinical Best Practice (Link)
  5. Continuous Spinal Anaesthesia: a fit for all techniques? - The who, when, and why behind continuous spinal anaesthesia (Link)

The sixth webinar took place on March, 12th and focused on Catheter techniques for continuous peripheral nerve blocks - as safe and reliable as we believe?

This Webinar was presented by Dr. Oliver Vicent, Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus at the TU Dresden, Germany.

Objectives of the webinar:

  • The challenges of using catheter techniques for continuous peripheral nerve blocks in terms of safety and performance quality
  • Discussion of catheter placement techniques, underlying causes of pain management failures and complications
  • Ways and strategies to prevent problems associated with peripheral regional anaesthesia catheters
